Default DOB for post war M&P
SN is C246XXX, 4" tapered barrel, PC diamond magnas. Just the year will do. This is all I have to go on now.

C236,004 – C261,483…….1953 (manufacture)
It is very likely to have shipped in 1953 also, but as S&W did not ship in SN order, a 1954 shipment is possible.
