Default Half moon Snuby (HMS) Thread

I could never compete with Wiregrass Guy who has a whole album on them... but every time I cross paths with one of these it ends up in either my or my son's shopping cart. So, now I have a fearsome foursome

M&P transitional (shipped Jan. '48, non factory MOP grips)
Pre 10 (shipped 1951, period grips)

Hey, Randy! Thanks for the shout out. But, I'm really a piker compared to some members here. I only have a couple of M&P snubs left. Admittedly, others have passed through my remuda. But, from one aficionado to another: Nice Start!

Nickel 1949 M&P with a 1948 S serial M&P.

Day before birthday gun 7/13/1949 C series SN.

I'll add a few of mine...

... there is something that is way cool about those early 2" M&P's.

The little terriers are also pretty high on the cool list...

Another I-frame so RKmesa's Terrier doesn't get lonely. '49 .32 HE. It was definitely a working gun.

This one was produced in 1922. I haven't lettered it yet, but we know that S&W did not have the barrel blanks to make this snub yet. By all estimates, it got a genuine S&W barrel later in it's life.

Half moon Snuby (HMS) Thread-dscf0559_zpsakztty3o-jpg

The Mother of Pearl stocks came from a gent in the Association of Retired TX Rangers and the holster is S.D. Myres.

The gun came with numbers matching gold medallion magnas.

I already posted this but decided to change the stocks. I think they fit the gun pretty well

This is my one and only M&P snub. It's also probably my best gun show buy at $275.00. I didn't even argue the price.

I have always liked the half moon front sights of pre-war2. Not sure how good they would be for actual shooting, but I like the look better. On S&Ws and Colts.
