My wonderful pearl handled renickeled pre Model 10
I bought this 26 years ago for $175. Later picked up the thin pearls at a gun show for $20. It wears smooth magnas and Pach. adapter now, though. I usually hate when they nickel the hammer and trigger, but this gun has the smoothest action I own so don't care in this case. What year was this made? About 1955 or so? Serial number is: C 2427XX.

I like shiny guns and pearl grips. I don’t care what Georgie Patton thought.
Thats a nice one!

A bit earlier, more like 1952/53. The half-moon front sight, which this one still has, changed “officially” to the ramp in 1952.

I like it. Some days I think about selling off all of my later production 4" or longer .38`s with ramp sights so I can afford to buy more early ones with that round sight. A nice looking refinished one might actually be worth more to me since that means I can shoot and holster it without feeling guilty...
