I put an ad on a local online merchandise sales site. A woman contacted me and these were her dads guns. He recently passed away and I was the lucky one she sold them to.

Pre 19
Wow! Lucky you and congrats. I think it’s great when someone who really appreciates old guns brings one back into the fold.

Her father had great taste. I picked up a few other guns and every one was the first year or two.. Like a Remington 14 in 32 Rem. from 1913..
The 66 no dash was his carry gun and was filthy..
Here it is cleaned up and wearing some new shoes..

Love old Combat Magnums...Very nice catch
IIRC thats in the area of "Non Model marked Model 19" with possibility of shipping in early 58.
CM's in that range have the cylinder face and yoke serial # stamp but the ejector rod shroud serial apparently had been abandoned .

The way I see it if it is marked mod 19 it is a model 19. If it isn't marked then it is a Combat Magnum. No such thing as a non model marked model 19, seeing how the Combat Magnum becacame the Model 19 by being marked as such.

The Combat Masterpiece was .38 Special. The Combat Magnum later became the Model 19.
