Default British Victory Conversion

A friend of mine recently picked this up at a yard sale. I'm more curious about the grips than anything. I'm not sure if they are original to the conversion or if they were added to the gun by a previous owner after it came into the country. They are called StaGrips. Can't quite make out what it says above that. They've got that same stanky smell like an old screwdriver handle. There's also a white chalky deposit on the inside of them. Anyone ever seen these before? I know there was a thread some time back about some kind of collectible grip from the past, but couldn't remember if it was these or something else. Anyone here familiar with them?

Nice gun. Get new grips.

C&H also converted my BSR. Almost the same front sight.

I'm guessing they cut down the barrel as well. Mine now measures 3.5"

I use it in the fall to hunt English walnuts. I'm getting pretty good at it.

While I cannot provide further insight into the grips themselves, I am fairly certain that they are not original to the conversion.

Cogswell & Harrison installed their own proprietary wooden stocks on the converted BSR’s they sold, very distinct with full checkering coverage and actually offering quite a bit better grip than the original Victory stocks.

Any C & H conversions with different styles would most likely have been re-equipped later, possibly after re-importation.
