.22/32 HFT for sale
I just looked at a .22/32 HFT for sale that is probably one of the worst examples of this poor old work horse that I have seen since I began following this model a few years ago.
The hammer is bobbed, the rear sight blade is crunched from being dropped, the wood stocks are chipped and the trigger guard has been removed. The front sight looks funny but the photos don't show it well enough to identify what happened to it. I understand that an owner has the right to customize a gun as he/she sees fit however, this seems a little overboard to me.
I have asked for the serial number so that I may enter it into my database for future reference.

Nice to know there might be one or two out there in worse shape than the few I have.

Mr Redfield, the original owner was very fond of all the living and material items he owned. He customized them to fit his needs. You should see what he did to his horse.

One of those sold on a Proxibid listed auction in the past couple weeks with the trigger guard removed. There can't be too many out there with that mod. I suspect the seller here was that bidder and is having buyer's remorse. I bid on it strictly on a parts value. Was quite surprised how much it sold for.

Wow, It had the double fitz package
I guess if you needed the internals maybe you buy it. I see spare bbls in auctions fairly frequently.

The hardest thing to find for these HFTs is a good hammer, and that's been bobbed. The frame would be handy but it needs a trigger guard grafted on. Not worth much for parts.

Trust me. I didn't bid much. :-) I figured I could use the grip frame for fitting stocks. The worn grips were worth maybe half my bid. A spare cylinder could be handy and worth my bid. The internals would be peace of mind for my various I .22s and .32s. I managed to justify placing a bid but I certainly wasn't disappointed that I didn't win it.

The cyl could by recessed and fitted to a pre recessed gun so one could shoot LR in it, and keep the original cyl in the box.
