Default 357 Magnum Elevation not adjusting

My pre 27, 6", elevation is not working up or down, though it does ratchet into place. Started shooting high 2.5" at 10yds just recently.
I checked Numrich and their parts list starts at the 27-1.
I can of course compensate, but would rather not.
I am wondering if it can be fixed rather than replaced as I fear the pistol value might be affected.

Could you elaborate on that? (Explain it a little better?)

I suspect the remedy will involve replacement of internals----not the sight body itself. I'm not all that familiar with newer guns such as this, but someone who is will be along directly. And aside from that, I'm fairly certain the sight body is not numbered---so no harm, no foul when it comes to value.

The elevation screw is a female thread that screws onto a stud dovetailed into the frame. Your screw has obviously come loose from that stud.

It is possible that the stud has slid out to the rear and is now gone.
IF present, screw them back together.
IF you have good hands and the proper tiny screwdriver, loosen the tiny front screw (way up front on the sight leaf) to make this easier.
Either way, you have to push down on the rear sight while turning the elevation screw to the right. This easier IF you have a PROPERLY padded vise to clamp the barrel in.

If you lack ANY of these, take it to a gunsmith-
Good Hands
Padded Vise
Correct screwdrivers
Threaded stud

Bingo! Male threaded stud is there. Threads are good. I intend to attach it to the female windage screw, slide it into the slot, and reattach the strap. Fat fingers are not a plus.
Not as serious as I thought.
Thanks Handejector.
