HE ID help
Picked this up today. Details below. Help is appreciated. Thanx
1. Type: Hand Ejector
2. Serial #: 100277
3. Ctg/Caliber: X 32 WCF CTG X
4. Bbl: 5"
5. Sights: Hand Ejector Fixed. Rear sight cutout is round/elliptical (vs U dished out)
Add' info: Strain Screw; Square Butt; Not original grips (they are small square butt K grips - SN 510895). Assume original would be the wood grips (smooth?) with the oval at the top); 5 Screw; Importer's mark on bottom of square grip - "ODIN ALFX VA". Found where this is an indicator gun may have been in Mexico and imported back into US. Gun came from AZ.

I believe the serial puts the gun in the very early 1920s, before the MADE IN USA stamping started in mid-1922. So the original stocks would indeed have been non-medallion round-tops. The ones on it now appear to be post-early-1950s magnas; likely from a C-prefix gun with the serial stamp you mention.
I am not entirely sure whether it is just a distortion of the photo perspective, but to me it looks like a barrel bulge about where the caliber stamp is.
Just realized I forgot the basic identification: It's the .32 WCF (= .32-20) version of the Military & Police model, called the Winchester model by a few people.

This .32-20 Hand Ejector dates to the early 1920s, just as Absalom stated. To his reasons, I'll add the serial number and the cartridge stamp.
They did not ship in serial order, so it is a guessing game as to when it left the factory. But I list two nearby serial numbers (a bit lower) that shipped in April, 1921. So, sometime in 1921 is possible.
Absalom mentioned the absence of the Made in U.S.A. stamp. But the cartridge stamp also changed in mid-1922, from 32 W.C.F. CTG to 32-20 CTG. So, this one was produced before that time. When it left the factory is anyone's guess, unless a letter is sought and obtained.
And yes, the stocks are the PC Magna style, so no earlier than about the mid-1950s.

OK - THANX! So I am on track so far based on input.
Absalom - "I am not entirely sure whether it is just a distortion of the photo perspective, but to me it looks like a barrel bulge about where the caliber stamp is." EXCELLENT catch! Yes, I DO believe it has a slight bbl bulge. Just picked it up (GB). Having a 'smith check it tomo. Reached out to seller. Ok to shoot it if I want, and if a No Go, seller will refund. Sad part is, gun is VERY tight for ~100 yo! We shall see.
JP - again, spot on. Gun details/stocks just did not match. If I keep it, may go aftermarket faux aged ivory and Tyler T grip, and try to eventually find orig grip set.
Thanx All!

You will find them on eBay frequently. They won't be "original" but they will be period correct.

Welcome to the .32-20 club. I've had at least one .32-20 revolver around the house since about 1975. Several were bought in Alabama when I lived down there.
Yes, go out and shoot it first. I've owned several revolvers with bulged barrels and they all shot as good as a non-bulged one.
