Default Grampa

I like this pic. I’ve been researching my grampa. I have his RM and I’m writing a story about him. I never met him but my mom is a good source of info. Grampa used to go on stakeouts for Dillinger when he was Sheriff.
Great thread; great pics. Tough guys showing their artistic flair!

Here are another few "artsy" photos I've taken that I particularly like. This one is a tribute to Teddy Roosevelt, who as police commissioner of New York City, favored .32 caliber revolvers for his police force.

This one is in memory of a couple of my good friends who died in action in Vietnam.

This is an ode to my father - that's one of his grade school readers; he was born in Kentucky.

This is the grave marker of Sheriff Harry Wheeler, in Bisbee Arizona's Evergreen Cemetery. He was the last Captain of the famed Arizona Rangers, initiated the Bisbee Deportation (look it up!), and went to France as an Army Captain in WWI. The little Colt .32 Model 1903 hammerless was his personal armament in France - it's in my collection now.

In memory of Wild Bill Hickock - these are the cards that tradition says he was holding at the card table when he was shot from behind. Today it's known as "the dead man's hand."

I was one of those "folks" and if I could have been more persuasive with a certain LEO, it would have ended up in an AZ safe... "with a bunch of engraved guns." But it would have been very well loved.

That is a beauty!

Mitch, your photo makes me ask the question - "how nice are the triggers on those Straight Line Single shots?"

Default Straight Line Triggers

RKMesa:

You ask: "how nice are the triggers on those Straight Line Single shots?"

Despite comments to the contrary found on this forum, I've always found them to be fairly smooth and break consistently, and I've owned 4 of them.

The only problem I've ever had with a Straight Line was with the first one I purchased which had a broken sear. It took some time, but the seller, and an excellent gunsmith, made it right.

I really enjoy shooting the Straight Lines, especially the one in the photo (1231) which I located in Texas. I found the sights to be adjusted perfectly the first time I shot it, and I've never had to touch them since. For me, the Straight Line is much more balanced in the hand, and easier to shoot accurately, than the earlier 3 single shot models.

Richard as far as favorite photo's go this is not really firearms related but to me the timing was perfect IMHO.
She is my firstborn...………..straight A girl and this is a picture I've always kept.
She's quite a bit older now but if you like this one I can update.

Thanks for sharing,

I did get conformation form Mr. Jinks that the engraving is factory and it's largely due to my conversation with you that I decided to buy it. Many thanks sir!
