... Just Because I Like This Photo...
I was just looking through some "older photos" and found this one that I really like:
The gun is very nice, but the reason I really like the photo has more to do with the ambiance that it creates, rather than the gun itself (e.g. the warmth of the colors of the vaper paper and box lid, the light, as it catches the barrel, the dark blue background, etc.). Not claiming any real photo skills, but to me, this one just turned out "right". I would love to see your favorite photos of guns that for whatever reason, just turned out "right".

A 38-year-old deck rail wraps around my cabin's waist. I shoot 95 percent of my revolver images on that belt. Natural light and the flat grey grants blued revolvers permission to float above the wood.
This image juxtaposes an imperfect .32 Hand Ejector against the rail. If the wood were a still pond, the grain lets you imagine two pebbles dropped into the water on opposite sides of the .32, converging on a not-quite-vertical grain line that bisects the gun's frame and trigger.
In the early '80s Chuck Mangione played Chase the Clouds Away on his flügelhorn. I hear Chuck's soft jazz when I look at this photo.
It makes me .

I don't have a quality camera, so I only takes pictures on my cell phone and then crop and edit with a free app on my phone. I would love to get a camera and be able to take quality photos of my guns. Because of not having a nice camera, I don't take many photos of my guns, but this picture I enjoy for some reason.

This is hard since I am so bad at taking pictures. Also, I must have sold all my engraved Smiths since I can't seem to find any. Wait, I don't think I've ever owned one. Oh well. Kind of like this picture. I did manage to get part of a box in it.

Personally, I have found that when I want to take nice pictures, I end up taking 5x as many as I think I should, using different angles and lighting and then I choose from there.
My IPhone and my old Android take very nice daylight photos, the IPhone takes much better low ambient light.

Hard to choose just one.
Model 25-2 Jovino
Combat Magnum
REG-2269
Model 27 (No Dash) I like this photo because it makes a blue gun look nickel
Just to show it is, in fact, blue

Here's my Bisley flattop 44 Spl. I like the deep blue steel with the black locust handles.
Oh yes, I haven't had this long but I think the color is good. Model 49:

That full flap, floral design carved holster, has made a sinner of me, I just broke the ninth & Tenth commandments, just looking at it. Who was the maker? OBTW, it would look 100% better along side, of this, my Blued Mod. 34!

Wow! What great pictures. I will look in my albums to see if I have even one that I would say was "right".
Yup! I am going with this one - I have a number of reasonably nice pictures but none with as perfect a shadow as this one has:

I some how ended up with this photo of a 3" 65 that I had worked over with a file, emory cloth, sand paper and a buffing wheel to bring it back from beater status. Taken with an Iphone IV. I was only taking pics for insurance purposes.

This one tells a story. It is very uncommon to see the light on a pool table, waiting for a game of nine ball to start, focused on a small collection of sorts. I like to see the light piercing the darkness, with it fading across the nine balls. I got lucky with the lack of reflection from the guns.

This one was taken in my bathroom "lightbox" that for a couple of hours a day seems to have ideal light coming through the translucent skylight

It's a Heiser, made for the 4" kit gun. That Lawrence of yours is not too shabby either.
Obviously this thread was needed, some really good photos shown.

I don't use the word artist lightly, but you people are artists. Beautiful photographs. Each one is suitable for framing and display. Thank you.

... Just Because I Like This Photo...
Two of my favorites:
Breakfast at the West Virginia cabin.......left the Reg Mags at home in Virginia on that particular morning........
But did take my .357 Mag Transitional for a morning outdoor picture with the May 1948 issue of Field and Stream magazine - the Transitional was originally shipped to Mr. Eltinge Warner, publisher of Field and Stream magazine, on May 11, 1948.

... I'll post one more that I really like. The worn condition on the edge of the box, appropriately frames this beautiful 8.375" Non RM

Made for the War effort
1943...
S&W made the Victory and shipped it to Navy Norfolk on December 15th.
Boyt made the holster.
The government made nickels of silver, and
pennies of steel.
The next year Wyoming made its license plates of cardboard.

That engraved mod.49, is just scrumptious! it's the first Bodyguard that I remember seeing, that was engraved. The engraving really makes it "stand out", in a pleasing way. I only wish that this, my Mod. 38, was "Decked Out" with engraving like it.

This is one of my favorites - a WWI tableau. I took it as the frontispiece and end piece for my book 101 Classic Firearms. I visualized the scene as a WWI "doughboy" might have seen it as he took off his gear to check it in the shade of a tree. All the items are original WWI vintage.

Thanks much Sir.
I don't know if it's factory engraved or not, I haven't had it lettered. If anyone knowledgeable about 1981 S&W engraving patterns has an option, I'd like to hear them.
Here are both sides & bottom:

Jeb:
I believe that is factory engraved. I would be very surprised if it did not letter as such. It is a beauty and I would be proud to have it in my engraved gun collection.
Thanks for sharing,
