Triple Lock history letter arrived..... accompanied by a mystery.
My Triple Lock letter was in the mailbox today. It was shipped in 1916 to “ Inicensus Drosco” with no location given. Mr. Jinks added that the hand written ledger entry was hard to read and was his best guess. Any one ever heard of this person or company?
I wonder if "Drosco" could be "Orosco" which is a common surname in Central & South America???

The name Drosco shows up in Texas census records for 1920... also, a popular name in Mexico. There was a "Pascual Orozco" who was part of the Mexican Revolution during that time frame.
Might try the S&W Historical Foundation now that you have the letter.
Most if not all of my letters show an actual shipping location. I don't think I've ever seen one without it.

I just looked at the shipping records. I came up with the same name as Mr. Jinks did. The first letter in the last name is a D. It's really hard to read some of the hand written entries.

Here's one that would be great to have a photocopy of the shipping record.

Just gonna toss this into the mix for consideration. I have TL #13823, shipped November 14, 1916 to the WG Walz Co. in El Paso, TX. Now, this is a longshot since we know S&W didn't ship in serial number sequence, but you might try to find census info to see if there was someone with a similar name living in or around El Paso at that time.
Sorta makes me wonder if S&W did "batch" shipments to destinations based on railroad schedules, or if S&W employed shipping agencies to handle logistics. Daily package pickup service by UPS and FedEx didn't exist back then but the trains ran on time!
