Default Wolf and Klar .38 Special

Are there any experts out there on S&W .38 Specials from Wolf and Klar? Looking to dig up what I can on a very elegant and understated W&K. All black, with gold lettering. Sight and grips upgrades as well. Any collectors out there that collect W&K? I have poked around on the web and found lots of W&K guns, but none quite like this one. I would love to find out anything I can. It lettered from W&K. Cheers!

Those two pictures don't give us much to go by. How about pictures of the rest of the gun, barrel length, and serial number. Someone here can probably provide quite a bit of info but we'll need more than the two pictures posted so far. And welcome to the forum.

If I remember correctly, there was an article in the Colt Collectors Assoc. magazine a number of years ago about Texas shipped guns. I think the article stated that the ledgers from Wolf and Klar were held in a Texas university library. I cannot remember which one. I will have to go through my old CCA magazines and try and find the article. If I can find it I will put a reply in this thread. Tom

Tom: This is the first time I've heard about this. There were rumors about W&K records existing somewhere. Igmight be logical for them to have been preserved at a university in the DFW area. The old W&K building was torn down to make way for what is now the Ft. Worth convention center, I believe. Please, Please let us know what you find out!

The OP, Jason, was kind enough to send me full photos of his 38 M&P target. It is stunning and lettered as shipped in 1926 IIRC. I hope he posts more photos.

As W&K was in Ft. Worth, maybe TCU? There is very probably a historical group in Ft. Worth, and they may know something about the location of any remaining W&K records.

In addition to selling and distributing guns, W&K was also a pawn shop and jewelry store.

Didn't many of the guns from here have steerhead pearl grips with garnet eyes and a rather crude form of engraving or am I thinking of a different outfit? Thanks.

TCU rings a bell. I am still looking for the article. As I remember it, the article said the ledgers include sales of all types of products including firearms. Looking through 21 years of CCA magazines is a chore. Tom
