Default Happy Birthday

Or I guess it should be Happy Shipday.
This 44 Magnum left the factory 60 years ago today. Shipped to H.H, Harris in Chicago, wish I knew how it ended up in Birmingham, Al.
I'll be 60 in 8 months, I don't look as good.
If you have a 5" or some other barrel length show us a picture.

The gun did not come with the original case and I don't want to pay the going price for one so I threw this one together.
Thanks GF, Mike and I need to make another trip up your way.

One of those 5” HH Harris 29s is the ultimate S&W to me. Thanks for sharing

Model 29-2 with a 5-inch barrel shipped to H. H. Harris on March 7, 1963. Click on the photo for a closer look.

The gun could have legally been shipped by Herbie Harris direct to a buyer in Alabama. That was in pre-1968 gun laws time and Harris usually ordered more than one at a time from S&W.

For me 5" barrels on S&W revolvers are perfect. I've been shooting 5" 625s and 627s in competition for about 30 yrs.

Beautiful revolver. It is an honor to have it here in Alabama.

Imagine my surprise when I found it sitting on a table next to a bunch of other S&Ws at a local show. And it was priced less than several of the others.
I stood there holding it in my hand trying to convince myself that it was real.
Maybe Steve will come on here and show the 5 screw 4" that was sitting next to mine.
We both got lucky that day.

Happy Shipday! It should be celebrating at my place Yep, our only mistake that day was not going to Georgia and buyin' a lotto ticket!
You did it proud with that case too!! I don't have any pics of the 4", but it has been deer hunting several times. The deer seem to have lost their interest in S&W's as they have not cooperated lately, lol.
