Replacement for Cracked Barrel
A friend cracked the forcing cone of his 2" M&P last night. It is an old one with "half moon" front sight, probably early postwar.
What are the chances of finding a period replacement?
And where to ask?

There's Ebay (please don't start guys, they have cheap clothes regardless of their politics) and Gunbroker.
Buy another and keep the barrel and part out the rest.

Numrich will surprise you sometimes. At one time the filing system and organization of parts at Numrich was awful. Several years back a Member's son starting working there with S&W as his specialty. I heard he was responsible for organizing most of the mis-placed S&W parts.
