Default Rockin' It Old School! (Model of 1905 x 2)

Fate smiled upon me and brought a couple of 1905's into my life earlier this week. The 1905 is, hands down, my favorite S&W model. Not sure why. It just is.

This a 1st Change, target version. Shipped in 1907:

And this is a 3rd Change, shipped in 1914:

And this is now my bank balance!

How about because it looks so elegant?
Yes. Those are both very nice, and the target model is especially elegant.

...and your forum handle is "357magster"?? Where's the love for the .357???

... now my first love is the 357 Magnum, BUT a close second (or third, or forth - depending on the day and which gun is in front of me) is the pre-war 1905 Target Models. There is something that is so beautiful about the look that seems sooooo right... And yours is a beauty!

Thanks for sharing,

Hey, it's all about "diversity" these days. (At least that's what they keep telling us at work.)

When it comes to S&W's there is plenty of love to go around. (Wish there as plenty of money to go around with it!)

But, not to disappoint, here is some .357 love.

(Oops ... just noticed that the first photo is a bit blurry. Squint a little when you look at it.)

Good grief, 357magster! Those are wonderful looking revolvers.

I have only one .38 Special M&P Target from that early, and it is quite a bit more homely than yours.

However, it belonged to my grandfather and I inherited it when I came back from 'Nam (he died just a month before I went over). So, homely it may be, but it is dearly loved.

Here is a picture (this one shipped in April, 1908, and yes I had it lettered. The penciled serial number is still visible on the stocks):
