My dad’s EDC. What year was it produced?

59159 probably shipped in 1955. I have SNs listed which are either side of yours which did. It is also in the 1955 production SN range (55050 – 75000).

Thanks for sharing it with us.

I have 59221, which shipped in April '55. For clarification, the factory doesn't track production dates, only the date it shipped the gun. It's possible to get a letter from the S&W Historical Foundation ($75) that will tell you the ship date and to where the gun was shipped, likely a distributor or shop.
