Missouri - The Show Me (Odd Law Enforcement Revolvers) State
I've had (and posted) the Missouri State Patrol special order 5" Combat Masterpiece for a few years. I just added another special order, the Kansas City PD 4" heavy barrel Masterpiece. The KCPD gun has the matching PC stocks. Reportedly, in both instances, the factory cut down 6" ribbed barrels to fill the orders. Missouri just had to be different, and collectors are better for it.

Here's my MSHP revolver. Shipped to the department on October 3, 1952.
Don't own a KC gun, nor an Illinois State Police gun. Yet.

That Model 15 4 in Heavy Barrel interests me as I have a Model 15-7 that is a heavy barrel but with round butt. If I am reading the S&W Collector book correct the 15-7 was the last run of non-MIM Model 15 production. It did have the cut down cylinder release that I replaced with an older full thumb size release.
What dash are your Model 15s?

Medic15al,
The 5" is a pre-15 Combat Masterpiece shipped 10/52. The 4" is classified as a pre-14 (Target) Masterpiece, shipped 4/57.

No. No department stamps on any of them that I've seen. Certainly not on the one I own.
