That is a stunningly beautiful K-22 Masterpiece. But I seriously doubt it is a Model 17. Is it so marked in the yoke cut? Hard to believe . . .
Anyway, nice purchase! Even though you are laggardly in posting pictures for us to admire.

K 309106
K288,989 – K317,822...1957 (manufacture)
K-22s on my list having nearby SNs all shipped in the late 1957 to early 1958 period.
Allegedly the first K-22 with a Model number was K 326533

I love the looks of the grips. Wow. Amazing that these old guns survive to stay in a condition state like this one.

Very nice
Ive only seen one other 6" with a Baughman FS blade and long ramp :0
Wonder if the ramp was sourced from the 4" K-22 Combat Masterpiece bin ?

I am not big on owning collector guns that are best left in the safe, but I think I would make an exception for your gun. KP@AK said it best, that is a stunningly beautiful K-22 Masterpiece.

I had a K32 Model 16 that had the same Baughman sight....
Roy could not find any records for the special sight, but when he saw the gun at Columbus SWCA, he said it was correct. In fact, at that show, I saw 3 K-22 with the ramp sight.....

What a classic beauty, you really have the luck to find such a revolver. The grips have wonderful grain and color. MAkes me wonder if it was a special order for someone special. Even the screw driver is special, a nine banded blued one, dates from 1940-1958.

Among the most beautiful factory stocks I've ever seen. Fantastic special order. Never seen a 6" K22 with a ramp...let along with insert.

Bringing this one back to the top with the factory letter. Shipped as you see it in a single gun shipment
I like the pricing breakdown; the special order features equated to over a 21% increase in the wholesale price!

Very cool that it lettered like you hoped! Quite an increase for the special features too. I forgot to ask, was this a local find or on the auction sites?

That surely "is" a special K22. That box is a triple plus, and correct to the examples I've seen. There was not pre-printed box for the K series shipped with the OSS option so they used a blank box and paper end label that was sometimes all correct, hand wrote all the SN and options on the bottom side. Just PERFECT !! Congrats on that find.

If you don't like this gun, you probably don't belong on this forum. That's about as nice as a 17 gets IMHO.

Oddly enough, the barrel that was the basis for my recently completed K-32 homage had a Baughman rib... no red ramp, but definitely a Baughman rib. Since it came to me as a NOS barrel with no provenance, I was interested to see the comments here.
