Won another N I don't need. .455 to .45 with added target sights.
Just got notification that the hammer fell on me for this one from Little John's Auction House.
Like I really need another modified pre-war N frame. I placed a 'Hail Mary' bid and won it for $350 before all the fees. I didn't have a .45LC with target sights. I guess I do now.
Should be a fun shooter.
It's got an offset hammer spur welded on a later patent-date hammer. The sights look like Micro?

Sometimes when you go walkin' in the bull pasture your find a rose.

You definitely got a rose.

Mighty fine "fall of the hammer". Looking to luck upon one of my own some day. Congratulations!

That's a pretty nice price. I would like to see some pictures of that hammer. Do you know if the cylinder is recessed properly allowing it to shoot .455 still?

That's a nice gun! More photos when you get it please.
The head space looks original, probably recessed chambers for Colt 45s. Therefore it will still have the serial # on the rear face of the cyl.

It's too bad when that kind of add on rear sight is added, the top strap is milled down flat. If I ever installed a sight like that, I'd mill the sight bottom to conform to the top strap.
Actually I'd install a factory sight and mill the top strap.

Very nice N frame!! I love the modified (well, I like the unmodified ones too) early Smiths. $350 sounds like a pretty good price...
Best Regards, Les

Since your 455 Mk II 2nd Model does appear to have Micro sights, the "cockeyed" hammer likely is as well. Micro copied the King spur modifications: right hand cockeyed, left hand cockeyed, and double cockeyed (wide on both sides).
And it will be stamped Micro on the left side top, visible when cocked.
If you look real close you can see the Micro stamp in the dark color case beginning with the large M just below the hammer nose retention rivet:

I fall in a similar situation
Similar question.
However both grips and sights are better in your sample.
The hammer, at the contrary, is the original humpback .
