Default Scored a K22 Outdoorsman wearing N grips!

So I woke up to find I won another one from Little John's yesterday. This one doesn't show any signs of a refinish (just lots of fingerprints). For some reason, it's wearing like new N frame pre-war large medallion stocks. Hammer price was $700 before fees. I figure the N stocks are worth at least $200. I have plenty of correct pre-war stocks to put on this one. It will probably get a set of K magnas or maybe even Sanderson's. SN is reported as 678914. I can't tell from the pics if it is a gold or silver Call's front sight.

Update 6/10
So here are my pics as promised. It's definitely the best finished OD or 1940 I've got. I don't know if it shipped with Magnas but they look and fit great. I think I did ok even with the 20% buyer's premium.

Case colors are still brilliant.

Chris:

That one looks to be a beautiful O/D at a great price! I also agree that those N-Frame stocks will offset the cost nicely. In that SN range, I would expect that the front sight has the Call Brilliant Stainless bead. For reference, my closest SN Outdoorsman (SN 679290) is less than 400 SNs higher, came to me with magnas and shipped in October 1939:

Congratulations.

I was watching that one, but it sold for more than I wanted to pay. I think it should be a 1st Model and would need a set of round top silver medallion stocks. I figured that the N frame stocks would bring enough to cover the shipping and premium, but since I did not have any nice K frame silver medallion stocks, it would cost me another $150, bringing the K22 OD up to $850 invested. Too much for me but it is still a nice OD, especially if you have a set of stocks just waiting for a gun to put them on!

I'll try to take my own pics of this one tomorrow. I couldn't be happier! I already sold the N stocks for 2 Benjamins to offset the hammer price. I have plenty of correct pre-war K's to choose from in my stash. Condition is in the very high 90's! Some holster wear on the last 1/4" of barrel and just a hint of a turn line. This one will bump a lower condition K22 out of the barn. Will be listing one soon that's a bit of an anomaly for $600. Stay tuned!

Chris, your photos show the gun is in much better condition than the seller's photos indicated. Another example of the auction house not taking a few minutes to prep the gun and use better lighting. Looking at your images, I am sure they left money on the table. If I recall, they did not even acknowledge the stocks were desirable N frames.

Oh well, their loss is your gain.

That's a nice looking Outdoorsman and selling the N stocks for a couple hundred bucks is a good offset to the cost. I once bought an N Frame with a set of K Frame Diamond Target Stocks on it. They were nicely grained and in excellent shape and I too sold them to help fund the correct N Frame stocks.
