Default Some J Frames

I was doing some rearranging and thought that I would get a group pic of the j frames. There are a couple Baby Chiefs, a NIB 32-1, kit gun, a 34, a NIB 36, more 36's, a 37, Nickel 37 complete with cracked frame, and a 60. Also a 2" 317 w/o lock. I like the round butts but won't pass up a nice SB. Oh, excuse the Taurus. I needed a place holder to make a dozen. Please forgive me if I should have posted them somewhere else.

J-frames sure do accumulate quickly. Are any of them Chief Special Target? ?

How does that lone Taurus M-85 shoot, compared to the S&W's?

Unfortunately no, I haven't run into any of those yet.

I can't really tell any difference, it and the 36 with the j targets shoot about the same.

My first S&W was a Chief Special, 44 years ago. A few years later I read Roy Jinks History of S&W, to find there were target model Chiefs that I never seen nor knew existed. Then, I was just awed by all the different type Js.

It took me about 5 year, in the pre-internet days, to find the first Target model and kept looking since. Also, airweights, and centennials. I lack in the .22 J's, only having 2, pre-model number .22 Js.

You have a fine collection of Js. Back in the day there were only a few of us that truly collected the J frames. Joe Cebull was (and still is 30 year later) my mentor in the S&W J-frames.

Super sweet J-frame collection. Very nice "wheel" presentation, too. Kudos.

In my 20s I thought the only real revolvers were N-frames with three T's, although I did have two token J-frame snubbies -- a Model 34 and a Model 60.

Now, 40 years later, nearly 60 percent of mine are J-frames. They range from a 1951 Baby Chiefs to contemporary Centennials without the IL. Some of my favorite Chiefs have 3" barrels. Still on the hunt for that illusive Chiefs Target.
