Default My Pappy's pistol

While I'm sharing this is my Pappy's old "hogleg" My Jinks letter shows it left the factory April 4th 1917 to the hardware store where my Grandfather bought it brand new. Been in the family for over 100 yrs, and I think looks good for her age. Still made a nice grouping in the target last weekend too.

One picture is worth a thousand words. I have some of my Pappy's and Grandpappy's and Great Grandpappy's guns, and congratulate you for having yours. It's a great thing to have that lineage and your children will think so too.

Default Great Gun!

I'd love to make you an offer on this revolver but it is truly a priceless family heirloom that, hopefully, will remain in the family. I would view the gun as a time machine in that anytime you hold it, you're in touch with your ancestors.

One look at that revolver tells you it was appreciated by its owners. 100 years old. Stocks not beat up, no scratches, yet blue is worn in high spots showing it was carried and used. Staying pretty in a sock drawer is relatively easy.

In 1917, life and money was different. Most put more thought into their purchases. We were not so consumer orientated. Things were made, purchased with the long view. Not, I'll buy one and when it wears out in a few years, I get the latest greatest.

Your grandpa and pappy did good. Your turn, then your son's and so on.
