Pre 29 5 screw question
I have a 5 screw first year production gun. The s/n is in the ejector shroud and butt of the gun, but there is a different number in the yoke? What is the second number?

Did you pull the yoke off, of shine a flashlight into the chambers to check? The number you're looking at is most likely an assembly number.

Yes,that's an assembly number and should match the other assembly numbers on the grip frame and on the back of the side plate.
The serial # on the butt should match the ones on the inside of the shroud, rear face of the cylinder and back of extractor star.
