Dick that is very cool but I should have been more specific. I was looking for baby chiefs with serial numbers between 1 and 99.

Hi Jim,

You may have seen my recent post about buying #99 from another forum member at the Wyoming Weapons Collectors show on Memorial Day weekend. It has the half-round front sight, the first style flat latch and magna stocks. Folks who were interested in that post saw these images, but since you asked here they are again.

As you know with Chiefs of this era you point the barrel to the left to read the serial number so it is clearly 99 and not 66.

I watched #69 and #80 sell on GB this year, but I haven't seen forum members showing them off yet.

Have you searched Roy's firearm database on the S&WCA area of the forum? He shows the initial disposition for many of the first 75, many of which -- including the first 11 3" versions -- left the U.S.A. An interesting study. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see one of those two-digit 3" models reappear in the U.S.A.?

Yes, this is a huge, not-so-subtle hint for folks to join the S&WCA to gain access to the fantastic information available from the organization!

Cheers,

Bob
