Found a nickel brother for my post war transitional M&P
Just brought it home today! Very excited because the auction listing was for a 1957 M&P. It is in serial C152xxx range so I place more at 1949 or 1950. My blued gun is a serial SV range of 1946. I am just so happy to be the caretaker of such fine all original older guns. Can not wait to shoot it but being nearly identical to my transitional it should shoot about the same. I did notice the new Nickel gun has the later short action but still has a hunmpback hammer. It has the serial stamped in right grip matching gun just like my blued gun. The nickel gun did get carried some and the rt. grip is not perfect with some handling marks on right side but I am very happy with it for a mere $300 it cost me. Anyhow just some pics from my phone to show it off and 2 with its brother too!

True, neither is a humpback hammer. The blue one has a long action hammer, the nickel has an earlier iteration of the short action hammer. I think maybe folks call it a "fish hook hammer", not sure, but not a humpback, that I know.

Thanks guys! Guess I am wrong on the hammer name sorry. It is just that neither are the regular short action hammer is what I was trying to say. I really like nickel guns and only have a model 19 in nickel besides this one so I was pretty stoked about the deal.
