Default Correct grips for a 27-2?

I do not think these grips are correct for a 27-2 s2323xx. They should have diamonds right? If I’m right, what is a revolver like this worth without the original grips?

If you remove the stocks the right grip panel should have a serial stamped inside, if it matches the stocks are original to the gun ,
Without pulling the SCSW out your probably right that it shipped with either diamond targets or diamond Magna stocks.

Without more pics or a better description its kinda like showing one picture of a 1965 Corvette and asking what its worth as condition and originality are paramount in a collectable revolver,

That being said the 6" is slightly less desirable than the 3.5", 4", 5", 6.5" but more desirable than the 8 3/8" IMO.
Its a 3 screw dash 2 but in the diamond grip era (sans grips).

If it is totally spotless , no box , docs, tools etc with low round count my guess is somewhere between $700 and $900 ?

Diamond grips? Depends....pre-68 or post-68?
nice looking 27 in any case. $700-$900 sounds right

My .44 Magnum serial number S2823xx came with diamond targets. I would expect a S23xxxx to ship with diamond Magnas and they would fit better than those. But, I would also think that the diamond Magnas would transition to the non diamond on a different time than the targets. As earlier said, they should number to the gun's serial number.

I believe it would have been shipped with diamond magna, they were probably mined to sell on e-bay to enhance the bottom line of the dealer's P&L statement.

S2323xx should be '63 - '64 which (from memory) definitely means diamonds.

The 27-2 would have definitely shipped with diamond Magna stocks as they were phased out beginning in late 1965 and the revolver would have shipped most likely in early 1963. Diamond target stocks were phased out beginning very late in 1967.

So that lets us know why the grips in the OP post do not fit. I would think that a 27 shipped in the 60's would never be shipped with grips this far from fitting the frame. Nice gun, bad grips.

I agree with Doc44, since it doesn't have a target trigger, it probably shipped with diamond magnas. Of course, a lot could have happened since 1964. Stocks can be changed, triggers can be changed, ...
