S&W K-38 Combat Masterpiece Grip Stocks
In a previous post a few days ago IRT finding out about identification and value of a K-38 Combat Masterpiece, someone mentioned I should replace the Alaskan carved Ivory Grips with original. I asked my Aunt and she found the S&W grips in a drawer. However, the metal grommet and screw that goes thru the frame was harvested to make the Ivory Grips that were in the pictures in previous post.
Is there anywhere to buy the metal grommets and through screw to utilize these wood grips? They are in pretty good shape - shame to not be able to use them.
I've attached a photo to explain what is missing - should be obvious I think.
Thanks for any ideas.
Bill

I'm sure someone will be along to assist soon.....
But in the meantime, I suggest that you go buy a lottery ticket. Luck is certainly on your side today.

Get on Ebay and buy a set of cheap stocks from exactly that period and swap the needed parts out. Remember, those have the old style parts. I take it your stocks are numbered to your revolver? Big Larry

Bill if those don't work out for you I also have a set you can have for free.
P.S. the parts that are missing are called escutcheons.

I once bought a nice K-32 and advertised for a box of original period ammo to go with it, and member Lee Barner sent me a full box of original ammo for free. He would not take my $$$. Even for shipping. What a guy. I am a firm believer in pay it forward and I too have sent many items out at no charge. Big Larry
