Default LADYSMITH Needs Some Help

I picked up this 3rd Model Ladysmith the other day. The condition is not great but it works well and is not messed up. It needs a rear adjustable sight and the top screw on the side plate. I think it was worth the 140 dollars I gave for it. Any ideas where to find a sight?

Nice pick up for $140. If you need a top screw, I will look in the jar
of old screws. You will get plenty of offers. Rear sight, no luck with me, sorry.

Very cool old workhorse and at a decent price. The screw may be available but I'm guessing that the rear sight may be tough. In my collection of the I frame .22/32 HFT's I have run across a bunch with mangled or missing rear sights. I think that when folks attempted to adjust these sights with the two screws, they cranked up the rear screw without loosening the front screw and many are found with a broken or missing sight base. There is one for sale on GB where someone tried to glue the two sight base pieces together.

I have looked for replacement I frame sights and have not run across too many. Perhaps enough years have passed by where these sights were not held by the company and were scrapped and no one bothered to climb in the dumpster and save them. Or perhaps they did not make a lot of extras as it was not deemed to be a normal wear part that would require future replacement.

Either way, unless you find someone parting out a donor gun you may have a tough time finding one.
