I believe I have found most of the patents for the first model hand ejector, but I have been unable to find the patent for the top-mounted cylinder lock. Does anyone know what this patent number is? Thank you. If you would prefer email, write to [email protected].
That's the oldest patent for the 1896 Model I believe, going back to 1852 for their Model 1 - 1st model. Sorry, don't have the #.
Someone here likely will.

The patent you are seeking is U.S. Patent No.20,607, granted to F. H. Harrington, assignor to Horace Smith & Danl. B. Wesson, on June 15, 1858.
Thank you! I was looking way too late. Plus I'm not certain I would have recognized it on the older gun. A few later patents show the top-mounted lock, but do not describe it.
