From the looks of that smoothed out trigger, and with his background, I'm guessing this was set up for Police PPC match's. What I like is I have one just like it (not tuned by this individual), which is a joy to shoot.

Why, after the Highway Patrolman .357 appeared, did people keep buying those? Well, most didn't, which is why they were eventually dropped from the line.
Buffalo Bore now has a hot 38 load that makes them viable as a carry gun in the wilderness. I think it's probably a sensible load for smaller (K-frame) .357's, too. But those can use full .357 ammo when needed, and the M-23 can't, and it weighs the belt down like more versatile M-27 or M-28.

Thanks for the replies. The revolver being slicked up for PPC makes good sense. Very smooth action and trigger. I will likely put this one up for sale in the near future as I have more .38 revolvers than time right now.

I also see a 4 dot 90. Could that mean that it made a trip back to the factory in April of 1990 for some work too? Thanks.

No. That's the wrong location for a factory rework date. It has to be the date Aldis tuned it.
