Default Questions about 5 screw K38

Today I saw a 6" K38, ser # K927XX in remarkably GOOD condition. It has a std trigger and a later issue 1/2" target hammer, and a set of later issue target (GA) grips, the ones with the speed loader cutout. It barely has a turn line on the cylinder, and a tiny bit of bluing wear at the tip of the barrel from a holster.

What year was it Mfg ?

What would a value be in it's present condition (no box or paperwork)

Would the correct grips be the diamond center ?

What would the correct hammer be, or could the target hammer be original and the trigger have been changed ?

Likely a 1950 produced gun. I am thinking in nice but modified condition and non- original stocks, about $550 or so. Diamond center Magna stocks would have likely been originally on it.

If it has a Target hammer with a rectangular spur it is a later part; with a oval spur it is from about that time. Having it with a standard trigger was fairly common.

K927XX

K908xx shipped in 9/50, and I list another in the K945xx range which shipped in 10/50. It would probably have originally had a hammer of the old "fish hook" style which was used until the late 1950s when the semi-Target hammer became standard. In the late 40s-early 50s, most of these shipped with diamond Magna grips, not target stocks. Target stocks with the speed loader cutout appeared around 1980. $500-$600 likely at retail.
