What did it come off of? It is currently on an Outdoorsman.

Yes, it's a much later post war thumb piece that's been modified (or a custom aftermarket part). Certainly not pre war

As stated above, modified factory, or aftermarket. These style thumb latches were popular with the PPC crowd back in the 1980's. They are still available. I tried one, and never noticed it was any quicker or more positive than the standard thumb latch I was used to while competition shooting, and its design could cause problems with duty use.
