Today's pristine BSR
I found this BSR today, SN V608xxx (ca. mid-1944), about as pristine as they come. All matching SNs, original .38 S&W chambers, minimal traces of a turn line, but with British proof stamps on the barrel and missing the lanyard swivel. Looks as though it has led an easy life. $350 including one box of Remington ammo. Will open it up for a thorough cleaning and lube tomorrow and see about getting a replacement swivel (pin is there). Almost too nice to shoot, but I will shoot it. I consider an un-messed with BSR in this condition to be a worthwhile find for anyone.

Beautiful find, Dennis. We missed the show this weekend, but haven't had much luck there lately.

By far the best gun show I've seen there for awhile. Lots of really interesting items (especially regarding long guns), you missed a very good one. I would have bought several more guns but I didn't have that much cash in hand. Mike had his new unconverted .455 Triple Lock, it wasn't nearly as bad as he described to me on the phone, also a very nice Model 35.

You found a scarce condition BSR, that's for sure!
Do you know what was being asked for the M35?
I or J frame?

I think he was asking $800, but I am not sure. He will deal. SN is in the 40K range. Improved I-frame (coil spring). No box. PM me if you need more contact information.

DWalt,
Thank you. That's a good price if anywhere near nice condition, especially for an I frame.

I disassembled the BSR today. The innards looked like they were packed in sticky brown grease, probably the same lubricant it left the factory with in 1944. Everything has been cleaned, re-assembled, and re-lubed, very smooth now, but it wasn't that bad before I started.
