Old time Lawmen (aka Real Cops) normally carried long barrel revolvers.
6"-6 1/2" and sometimes 5". I still CCW a 5". accuracy over firepower

Finally, I was emailed a couple of pictures of my Grandfather during his LE days. I will not be getting his Captain's badge, to put with his gun, because my estranged Uncle has it in a tribute shadow box already.

The pic with the Indian Motorcycle was taken around 1941, when he was about 28 or 29. The heasdshot was later, when he had been promoted to Sergeant.

The motorcycle shot shows him in the belt I have now but, none of OD is visible, as his arm blocks it out.

I have to admit, this tough, good looking man is not someone I knew as a kid. He was a crotchety old man by the time I was born. I do miss him though. I am admiring his old OD every day though.
