Default Unusual stamp on butt of Victory grip

4 sets of Victory grips arrived today and the left grip on one set has some stampings that I can't identify. An upper case A, 5 point star with a W inside and another stamp to the left of the star that I can't make out. The s/n on the right grip is 755804 but who knows if these were originally mated together.

Hmm...that looks like it could be a Weedon (UK) repair standard stamp. A number of military arms - lots of Pattern 14 .303 rifles for example - went through the Weedon refurbishment/upgrade process. Given the extensive use by the British of the .38 S&W revolver, its possible that grip came off a British example.

Statistically, it’s more likely than not from a BSR; there were more made than of the US version, and many were re-fitted with aftermarket grips upon re-import.

You wouldn’t by any chance have a photo of such a Weedon stamp? My google search didn’t produce anything helpful.
