Can I get a date on this pre 34?
Thinking 57-58, but can someone pin it down some for me? I believe it to be a very early square butt that I simply could not refuse. The beautiful diamond stocks number to the revolver. Thanks in advance!
And I did learn something about "sharp shoulder" stocks - I'd been thinking that because these had a slight "ridge" above the medallions that they were but stand corrected.

Can I get a date on this pre 34?

That is a beauty!
Yeah, late 1958 - early 1959. Serial #s are fairly chronological for Kit Guns in this period.
It's now the highest # pre model 34 in my database.

Cool gun. The "sharp shoulder" Magnas ran from just after WW II to about 1950 so this one is a little late. Enjoy!

And I and J frames didn't have Magnas till after 1950 therefore they never had any sharp shoulder stocks.

Hondo44, I don’t have it in my hands yet but are you saying that the stocks wouldn’t match to the gun? I’m confused.

I believe what Jim is saying is that your gun would never have "sharp shouldered" magnas because they quit making them before the guns were manufactured. The stocks on your gun look right to me, but they are definitely not sharp shouldered like the ones below.
