Barrel End Ejector Rod BEER
Barrel End Ejector Rod Shaft BEERS.
BEER sounds better to me.
This gun is now my Early Post War K22 BEER Gun.
I have been told that this serial number is near the last of this type of ejector rod knob.
Some pics.

Nice revolver. A tad scarce too. Mine is also in the higher numbered revolvers with a lerk, # 4339 was shipped on my 5th birthday 9-23-1947. I hope the stocks match the serial number.

I agree with your opinion on the LERK acronym. I have never liked it and do not use it. Regarding your SN K 5680 with a barrel-shaped knob, it is indeed very late. Yours has the highest SN on my list with the barrel-shaped knob but there may well be some slightly higher. I do have listed one in the K 23xxx range having a barrel shaped knob, but I have always suspected it may not have left the factory that way. However there are some lower serial numbers having the knurled extractor rod tip (KERT). The lowest on my list with one is K 4647. So between that one and yours, both types can be found.

Collectors do indeed place a scarcity value premium on the early K-series revolvers originally having the barrel-shaped knob.

Bill,

You have a real sweetheart "K22 Post War 3rd Model - 2nd Model Masterpiece, Model of 1946" there!

The only Model already having the short action (indicated by the target 'speed hammer') when reintroduced after the war! Also has narrow rib tapered barrel, very desirable early model one liner, and barrel Knob.

You got it all.
