Got a pair of grips for my 44 HE, but they don’t fit very well. What’s the remedy?

My guess is that it was dropped on its heel at some point in life. If the butt-frame was bent backward slightly, the rear part of the stocks would fit much better and it would close up the gap at the top as well. I doubt that you will ever find stocks that will fit without having the butt bent backward.
