Default 1952 K-22 with Culina Magna's

I just received a nice set of John Culina's Magna grips for a Special K-22. This is my Birth Year and Month K-22.

The Grips are Culina Signature Plus Figured Claro Walnut with what Jennifer Culina calls Snakeskin Fiddleback.

If you notice ANY discrepancies with the fit, that is my doing and not John's. This K-22's grip frame does not fit perfectly with grips fitted to a std frame so they sent the raw grips to me for fitting to my frame. I did my best.

John did his normal great job in finishing the grips, I specified his satin finish but they are still plenty shiny. I am leaving them as is though as they look great and I do not want to mask the grain and fiddleback in any way.?

I originally eas going to add some vintage but new Tyler T-Grips but it just didn't feel right in my hand with them with these grips, They feel great without them so they'll stay off.
Now for the mandatory photos

The only thing that could make that beauty look better is my hands wrapped around the grips at the range! Congrats, I’m jealous

Beautiful gun & pictures! You are getting old! I am right behind you @65. I recently obtained a 17-2 (1964) that looks and shoots quite well. Bob

I'm a 1952 model myself, but never owned a birth year gun.
However, my 17-4 did wear a set of Culina fancy claro walnut target grips.

Gorgeous. My K-22 and -38 were both born the year before me in 1948, so I guess they'll have to keep on wearing the old original diamond magnas they came with... but that set sure is tempting!

That I now have it in my possession. Wonderful revolver and outstanding grips. May grab it in a few minutes and shoot a target or two!

THAT IS A GORGEOUS SET OF GRIPS......

IMHO, THE TYLER-T DETRACTS FROM THE OVERALL APPEARANCE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL REVOLVER. THE FIT OF THE GRIPS IS NOT PERFECT, BUT I HAVE SEEN WORSE....

IN ANY EVENT, CONGRATULATIONS ON PUTTING TOGETHER A VERY ATTRACTIVE PACKAGE---INCLUDING THE HOLSTER......

Thank You,

I agree about the Tyler, It looks and feels better without it. I'll save it for future needs.

No, not a perfect fit but, very close. I erred on the side of caution rather that taking off too much. Again though, ANY errors in the fitting are mine. I'm sure if Mr. Culina had fitted them to my frame It would have been near perfect but unfortunately that wasn't an option. I've run into this before, grips fitted to a newer standard K frame just don't fit correctly on this particular revolver so I needed to fit it myself.
