Looking for info 32 hand ejector
Hello
I am looking for an approximate ship date
What I believe is a S&W 32 long hand ejector half moon front sight 2inch barrel with serial number 596689

That SN would be late, probably early 1950s.

I can put one on either side of that number. 589782 shipped July 1952, and 600097 shipped Jan 1953. That should put yours in Sept/Oct of 1952.

The best I can offer is another bracketed pair, but further apart.
538045 shipped in March 1950, and
637539 shipped on June 1, 1956.
Hope this helps a wee bit.

I agree with DWalt above; your ".32 Hand Ejector Improved I Frame - 1st Version" likely shipped Sept-Oct 1952.

Seems I remember something about the NYPD buying some of those .32 snubbies around that time. Not sure the NYPD had many lady cops on the force then, but a .32 snubby would have been good for them to use. A letter might be worthwhile if you get it.
