Got my birth year gun back! *Update with pics*
From Ford’s Custom Refinishing, that is. I splurged for their Master Blue process and I’m glad I did. WOW is all I can say! I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I am impressed! The gun is a Model 14-1 K-38 Target Masterpiece manufactured in 1961. The pictures don’t quite do it justice, but they are the best I could do. It is pictured with the grips I bought it with, but I’ve got a nice set of Diamond Magnas on the way.

Really, really nice. I'm glad it's not my job to put a turn line on it.

I got the K Diamond Magnas a few days ago and wanted to wait for the BK grips before I took pictures. Here it is along with my engraved Chiefs Special also sporting new BK grips.

Absolutely gorgeous.
You can't do away with turn lines in the long run, but it is possible to minimize initial impact. Swing open the cylinder (or remove it entirely, but that involves turning a screw) and, using your finest small whetstone, barely ease the sharp edges at the very top of the cylinder stop where it protrudes through the frame above the trigger.
