Would like to know the value of my "Miss Pearl"
I have a Smith and Wesson (revolver?)
32 long
CTG
44030
I see 4 screws from side view and one more in front of the trigger thing.
Pearl handles
Could someone help me and tell me the value of my gun? Thank you so much! I'm new here and I'm quite overwhelmed with trying to navigate this website. Whew. It's just me. Fog overtook my brain a few weeks back. Thanks!- Karin

Welcome! Here is a post for needed information (that you may have already read):
To IDENTIFY your Gun >
The most likely ID is you have a .32 Hand Ejector. If the serial number quoted is from the bottom of the grip frame it probably dates to about 1905.
The value is highly dependent on its condition, so photos would help here. Here is the link on how to post them:

Welcome to the Forum. It is also dependent on if the pearl stocks have a S&W medallion or not?? Since all 32 Long revolvers were made after 1903, factory pearl stocks had a gold washed medallion inset in the top on both stocks. If not, almost a given that they were after-market stocks and not original to the gun. We will await the posting of the photos.

Posting Pic's to a Forum thread from your computer
Hello Karin,
Welcome to the Forum.
If you can't figure out the pic posting thing here is a tutorial for doing it. Follow this step by step. After you do it a couple of times it becomes second nature. If you have problems, feel free to PM me.
-In the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the Forum thread, click on "Go Advanced"
-A large "Reply to Thread" box opens.
-At the top of the "Reply to Thread" box, type whatever your thread is about in the "Title" window.
-In the "Message" window, type whatever message will accompany your pic/pic's. After you type in the message (it must be longer than 10 charactors) hit the enter/return key on your computer keypad a couple of times to place the pic's at the bottom of the message you have typed.
Now for the pic's:
-In the grey area under "Message" at the top of the window, on the same line to the right of "Fonts"/ "Sizes" you will see a paperclip icon. If you hold your cursor over the pic of the paperclip it will turn a blue colour and say "Attachments".
-Click on "Attachments".
-"Manage Attachments-Smith & Wesson Forum" box opens up to the top left of your screen.
-In the "Manage Attachments" window under the "Upload File from your Computer", click on "Choose File"
-When you click on "Choose File" it will turn a blue colour. It may take a few seconds but another box will open on top of the "Manage Attchments" box. This new box is your "Finder" box from your computer that holds all your pic's/documents/media files etc......
-On the left hand side of the "Finder" box look for "Photo's". When you see "Photo's" click on it.
-After clicking on "Photo's", it may take a few seconds but all your pic's that are stored on your computer will be displayed. Scroll through them and when you see the one you want click on it.
-When you click on the pic, the border around the pic will turn a blue colour and the "Open" tab at the bottom of the window will flash a blue colour. Click on "Open".
-Your pic's window now disappears and the "Manage Attachments" window re-appears. Beside "Choose File" you will see your chosen pic's image code. To the right of that you will see the "Upload" button. Click on "Upload".
-After clicking "Upload" you can see your pic loading and after a few seconds another window opens that says "Current Attachments". It shows your pic file and file size, and that pic has already been loaded into the bottom area of the message window.
-At the very bottom of the "Manage Attachments" window (you may have to scroll down) there is a "Close this Window" button. Click on it.
-The "Manage Attachments" window disappears. Click on "Preview Post" to see your post and if you are happy with what you have click on "Submit Reply". All done!

Karin,
Welcome to the forum.
You have a ".32 Hand Ejector", classified as a Model of 1903 - 1st Change.
An extremely popular and accurate 6 shot revolver with swing out cylinder and a roundish butt grip frame. These were made from 1904 to 1906, after which slight improvement changes were introduced on the next evolutionary model.
They often had a shiny blue finish but many were nickel plated.
Which is yours?
Mother of Pearl grips were an extra cost option often supplied by the factory, and they have the gold medallions. Aftermarket MOP grips are often seen and as stated above do not have medallions, therefore of lesser value.
An estimate of the original finish whether blue or nickel is imperative to place a value.
For example, here's a similar gun with nickel finish estimated at about 85% original nickel finish. Notice the many little rust spots, missing nickel on the front sight, etc.
Here's a blue example estimated at 92 to 95% of the blue remaining with a few worn spots of bare metal like on the cylinder and end of barrel.
Can you give us an % estimate of finish left on your gun?

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass, Karin! If posting pictures is difficult for you, you can email them to me and I'll post them for you. Send me a private message if you need help and I'll give you my email address. To PM me, just click on my forum name -- Wiregrassguy -- and select private message or email. BTW, here is a .32 Hand Ejector that should look a lot like yours except mine is from the 1920s.

Closest SN on my list is 498xx which shipped in 9/07. 1906 is a good guess. To a great extent the value would be determined by its originality and condition.

Welcome to the best gun forum I've ever found.
For future reference, "CTG" is just S&W's abbreviation for "cartridge". As in ".32 Long cartridge".
I hope you'll stick around.

Hi Karin
On another forum I gave you some info about your .32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903. The guys here are giving you some of the same feedback, but they have not seen your pictures, nor have they been given the correct serial number, which is the 93908 number you posted elsewhere.
I mentioned to you that the pearl stocks on your gun are not S&W original equipment. Hondo44, here, also mentioned the medallions that would be on your stocks if they were original.
Also, the black hard rubber stocks I spoke of are shown in Wiregrassguy's photo at post #7 on this thread.
Welcome to the S&W Forum. As you have seen, the guys here are always ready to assist newcomers with their questions.
