Jumped in the deep end the last 6 months
Picked up the M&P Airweight last year and it really whet my whistle for some older Smiths. The other 5 have been purchased within the last 6 months. There's a lot still on my want to have list, all I need now is a couple of truck loads of money........

You are definitely heading in a good direction. The bad news is that if you continue to search out prime specimens like those, money is going to be needed in boxcar volumes, not just truckloads.

Nice start. The pre-14, pre-15 and a k22 would look good there too.

Nice collection. They are all really nice. That short barreled N frame is pretty interesting with those sights... Which one is that exactly.... I don't know what the acronym is.... KCPD. Kansas City Police Department?

Kansas City PD bought a bunch of 1930s era .357s for their officers.

Nice collection. My wife always said I had a champagne taste and a beer pocketbook. That's when I came hone with my first 44 special a 6.5"bbld 624 with the box and the goodies. So she decided to tag along to keep an eye on me. Yeah right,she goes looking for the hematight jewlerly. In the meantime I found a pristine 24-3 with 3"bbl and combat stocks. She shows up just as soon as the guy runs the credit card.Couple shows later a 24-3 with the 4" bbl shows up. Need I say anymore about her keeping an eye on me??. In a period of about year and a half I spent about 2100 bucks on 44 specials. Have nice holsters for all except for the 3". When she asked how much for each one I showed her the bills. you spent all that on three revolvers??She asked. Yep sure did. You are crazy. Hey tis but a short ride from birth to the tomb,so while your living,zoom,zoom. In my later years I've slowed down considerably. My only high dollar firearm purchased in the last couple years is a slightly used Pedersoli Sharps 1874 infantry rifle in 45/70 what else. I don't collect firearms but accumulate them. Most if not all the mil surps I have were bought many years ago when you could find deals on lightly used ones and considerably cheaper than what one would pay for them today. A lot of mil surps I see today are over priced, definitely not in the same shape or condition that I have. And you know what the sad part about all of this is??. I used to buy junkers for winter projects and to date only a couple have gone on to be completed. Even sadder is that none of my two daughters are interested in any of what I have. I've a nice marlin 336 in 30-30 for my grandson. And will leave a shotgun,rifle and probably a handgun to each of my sons in law. Frank

Nice score and great guns! I've also gone off the deep end and managed to get many of those examples, but not a KCPD pre war non registered magnum...if you don't want to put it on the public forum, mind PMn'g me what something like that runs? Won't sell the 24-3's or the 624 until they shovel the dirt over me. I do save the bills of just about every firearm I bought. Someone made a comment regarding selling prices for mil surps in excellent condition. I almost fell off the chair when I saw that the Persian long rifles model 98/29 were selling for almost a grand. I keep telling her that the mil surps you see now at gun shows are not in the same condition that the ones I have. Kinda anal about inspecting and cleaning. Frank
