Well that's not 32 Long Colt. It is 32 Smith & Wesson long and the ctg is for cartridge. They were only chambered for 32 long and 38 S&W. And I'll Echo that it is a beautiful gun from the mid-1920s.

I got my calibers all confused. Got 32 Colt New Police, 32 Long Colt and 32 S&W long all conflated.

Looks very much like my 32 Reg Pol, # 3096xx, which shipped on March 1920. But yours in in much better condition. Nice little guns.

Pretty darn nice!
It's from after ~1919 because it has the logo on the left side of frame and before ~1923 because it does not have MADE IN U.S.A. on right side frame. The serial # indicates closer to 1920 based on my database.
Polish the cyl stop latch to mitigate the line between the cyl notches getting any worse and shoot to your hearts delight!

Thanks for the information. I have been on the lookout for a awhile passively but saw one at an auction and couldn`t pass it up for the price. I need to pick up some 32 S&W long and give it a go.

They're sweet shooting guns and you will really enjoy it!
Take the grips off and see if the serial number of the gun is pencil inside the right panel. You may have to use some special lighting to see it.

I see some penciled writing, very faint. I see a 31 and a 98 but hard to make it out the numbers in between. Probably matched there but you know how pencil is to read.

Very nice little pistol. I love the bluing they used during that time period. I’d love to have one like that. Great pick up!

Mine left not long before yours. B 378548 on the barrel and 378548 on the cylinder and butt. 5 years to go and they will be 100.

Thanks for posting the nice photos of your handsome I-frame! Those are such beautiful little things, and .32 is a hoot to shoot. I already have three-- well, one's an HE instead of an RP-- and I've already decided to pick up pretty much any one I see. Unless it's $14,257.99 or something.
Be careful! Next thing you know, you'll have a .38 S&W RP too, just to round things out. It happened to me, and there's no treatment for it.
