Registered magnum with issues
Purchased this revolver with many issues. I guess it spoke to me and bought it regardless. Rear sight was missing, as there is a hole remaining on top for scope mount. Front sight is missing with a dovetail installed.
It was originally configured as 7 1/2 inch barrel with Paine bead front and King peep rear sight. Shipped in 1938.
Curious if anyone keeps up on the King peep RM'S and if this one is noted anywhere.
I poorly fitted a spare rear sight utililizing the existing hole, for now, and plan to fire away. I'll probably post a WTB ad for a more appropriate sight knowing these aren't easy to come buy.
Thanks for looking.

Depending on price I'd have bought it!

Clements Guns reproduces them for about $99 from time to time.
Recognize the proper RM rear sight for some vintages of RMs have these groves on the back:

Iirc there were only 8 ordered with peep sights. Is it still 7.5 inches? More pics pls. What is the front site? Did they file it down? Is that original finish? We take these guns as they come. If it was perfect you’d have paid $20 k. I like it. Enjoy. Dave

The peep sight is really just a replacement blade for the standard pre-war sight. Different apertures could be fitted. I think Thinnes is close with around 8 being ordered with peeps. Most were 8.75", but there was one 4.5" that went to auction recently.(See pic below.) Your 7.5" might be the only one in that length.

Nice....One of these days. A RM is my grail gun. I don't normally like guns with issues but these are an exception. A RM with issues is still an RM - and something I don't have. The only way I will ever be able to have one is find one that needs some extra love.

The barrel is now at 6 inches. I just assume it was reblued a while ago when the modifications were done. As for the front sight, all I know is its not original.
Good news is that numbers match everywhere except the lost magnas.

Looks like a great shooter, good luck finding the rear sight. Find it at a gun show? Any more pics available. I’m in NE Ohio also, just had the NE Ohio Bunch October 6th. This would have been a great gun to display at the meeting. Where in NE Ohio do you live? Larry

King is on the blade part. King usually marked their parts.(except when they didn't, lol)
