Default Question on Baby Chief

There is a ton of information here on the Baby Chiefs, but I have not seen this part mentioned. Were the insides of the stocks numbered to the gun? If so, at what number did they start, and at what number did they end?

I have 3, 2 blue and a nickel. All 3 have matching grips. These range from about 20K to just under 36K.

Yes, the right grip panel was serialed to the gun.

First serial number was 1.

Last known serial number was 45963.

Mine range 99 to 42829.

I have one on the way. The seller did say that it did not have the original grips; in fact the grips on it are from a different model. Serial is circa 35000.

This model has an I frame sized grip frame, so a set of later RB J frame stocks will be about 1/8" longer at the bottom.

I show serial number 350XX shipped in September 1953.

I have a few extra pairs of I-frame/Baby J-frame grips if you need a set. They have the usual small chip at the inner top. Send a PM if you're interested.
