Raymond E. Hutchens marvelous miniatures
I grabbed a couple of my miniatures for a little photo shoot. I know most of you have seen these but I did take a photo of the miniature herd for the first time. The first 2 photos are the 1/2 scale 8 3/4 registered magnum alongside a 1/2 scale model 1902 9 mm Luger. The full herd picture from top left is a 1/2 scale takedown Winchester model 1894 chambered in .22 short. Next is a 2/3 scale Uzi model B 15. The last gun on the top row is a 3/4 scale 3 1/2” registered magnum with extra 8 3/4” barrel. Bottom row left is a 1/2 scale 8 3/4” registered magnum followed by a full scale model of a 6” target Ladysmith and finally the 1/2 scale 1902 Luger. Bill

Fabulous workmanship! Those are the best ones I've ever seen! Can you shoot them, .22 rimfire maybe?

Registered Magnums were centerfire, so building miniature replicas as rimfire would not be exact replicas. Instead the builder created miniature centerfire ammo. I don't believe that bracebeemer has ever fired them, though. The ammo is pretty much irreplaceable, as are the guns themselves.

I think some are military surplus guns...from the Lilliputian Army! Oh, wait: Jonathon Swift wrote in the 18th Century, so I guess genuine Lilliputian guns would be flintlocks...
Seriously, those are just astounding. Every time I see "guns" like this, I marvel.

Should you ever decide to sell any of those Hutchens miniatures, please give a shout, I used to have all the toolings, dies and fixtures for them that he made to create that Uzi....but would love to get his creations back to the family.

I can’t even begin to come up with the words…!
Thank you for sharing your collection of miniatures. Having completed such an assemblage is, in of itself, remarkable.
Now, I need to read what I can find about the craftsman. He was truly gifted!

I had the privilege of seeing those in person. The OP is fellow member of Michigan Antique Arms Collectors and was kind enough to call me over to his table and show them to me. They operate just like the originals and the craftsmanship is truly remarkable.

I have a miniature book on these miniatures. Not sure where I got it. It was published by The Miniature Arms Collectors/Makers Society Ltd. in 1999. Fascinating work-over 300 pages of the mini's.

I fondly recall my wife having to drag me away from a display of many of these in a display at the Smithsonian Museum. This was back in 83 if I recall correctly. Just amazing how anyone could make something that precise and exact to scale.
