1956 Model 15?
I looked at this 4 screw Model 15 with serial K287xxx today and the SCSW shows that serial as 1956. I realize that the ship date and Mfg. date are different, but you'd think if the serial # indicated the frame was serialed in 1956 that it would have 5 screw features and not the 4 screw features.
Anyone know when in 1957 the model stamped pieces began to ship?
Edit to add.. Just realized the 5th screw was deleted by 1956.

Right. The fifth screw was eliminated sometime in 1956, and your serial number indicates your revolver was produced that year. But it is not a Model 15, it is a .38 Combat Masterpiece.
The Model 15 did not start shipping until 1958, at somewhere near the middle of the K300000 serial range.

Well, it is in a Combat Masterpiece box with the correct grease pencil serial #, but it clearly has a Mod 15 stamp in the yoke. Interesting...

Very odd at that serial number! Interesting.
At K287xxx I would expect a ship date of around November, 1956. Maybe this frame got buried somewhere and wasn't assembled until long after its brothers. A letter might be in order here; a strange tale might unfold.

It strikes me you guys are easily entertained. I guess that's okay----as long as you still like girls. You do still like girls, don't you?

Thanks Jack, I just might send for a letter once it's in my possession.
And Ralph, I don't have the time for girls any longer, but I do love my wife

Nice one. I have a K-38 CM s/n 304xxx (shipped 12/57) with no Mod stamping.

I thought I was getting smart when I read the post I was like it can't be a Model 15 if it was made in 56.... LOL. Be interesting to know what is up with that. How is that possible if the numbers didn't start until 57?
These guns like to keep things interesting. I like my wife Ralph. I will not admit to looking at any other women.... But I'm sure you all get what I mean.

Hmmmmmmmmmm??
"I don't have the time for girls any longer--------." So once you did have time for girls---is that what you're saying? But you do love your wife----who's also a girl----right? But you don't have time for girls? This is all very confusing----rather damning too---better not let the Boss Lady see it----she might not understand---might start beating you severely about the head and ears with a large, heavy object.
Well let us know what the letter says---if you're still alive. On second thought----------------------------------
