Default Gun show find Farrants

Found this set of Fuzzy Farrants for a K square frame at this weekends gun show. Checkered on both panels and Zebrawood I think. Placed them on my Mod. 15 no dash for photos. Happy to have them and hope you like them.

Very nice find Tim. Interesting that someone marked them J on the inside. I' glad they aren't the ones that require cutting the toe off the frame.

Good find, Kansasgunner, I have several Fuzzy Farrant grips that I ordered from him in the early 70's. Still use and love them.

I seem to remember one of these California grip makers, Farrant or Hurst, using wax pencil to mark grips inside to keep orders straight.
Found these on a table with a hang tag that said J frame square and price was $35. I paid the man and said thank you!

Iíve had a couple of similar experiences (no Farrants yet, though) and always try to examine the unusual or out of the ordinary stocks that may be misidentified and/or underpriced. Sometimes that odd bit of trivia that you know can have some real value!

I had two pairs of Fuzzy Farrants grips.. He custom made them them for me just to fit my hand. I remember sending him a tracing of my had. I used them both on my working guns for years... A friend of mine admired them so I gave him both pair as a gift..

According to Farrantís order form, theyíre likely bacote. Is that the same as zebra wood?

Not your usual Zebra wood pattern but probably in the realm. Grain can vary quite a bit. Here's a set of Jay Scott Zebra wood stocks with several coats of Tung oil...
