Default I’m declaring National Snubby Day

I hear that this is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day but since I was clearing out my safe and decided to take a couple of pics of my snubby herd lets grab a cookie and look at the pinwheel. I realize I definitely need to add some Smith snubbies since 10 of them are their cousins from the C—t side of the family. Let’s see your favorite snubbies whether Smiths or their cousins the Colts. Got to see if I have any pics on this computer. Only have about 10 of them if I leave out the J Frames. Well, I found a 64-2 and a 19-5. Only have 1 Colt. . .a 1952 Detective Special. All the rest are Smiths.

Great "Day" to honor the workin' stiffs, too. These each show a bit of wear.

'51, '52, & '54 Baby Chiefs with a '53 Airweight Model of 1953 Chiefs tossed in, too.

Since I only have two, I can't add much to the "conversation", but here they are. 1953 Baby Chief shipped to NYPD and a .32 HE shipped in 1957.

Oh, can I play too?!
Here's a chopped M1917, a nicely snubbed .44HE 3rd Transitional, a "FrankenCrewman" assembled with parts from six different revolvers, and my "fishing kit" 13-2 3" and 640-1.

I'm all for celebrating that! Here is a '69 model 37 square butt, a '54 Chief Special, and a '76 model 60. The 60 was my EDC but I like the 37 better!

I am definitely feeling 'snubby-envy'!

But I do have a new (2 year old) 638, and a brand new Charter Arms Pitbull 45 (2 & 1/2" barrel).

I'll stick with the true snubbies and leave out my 3" stuff.

60-3 and 60-7, can't remember which is which

60-7 Ladysmith with a 65-5 in the background

442 no dash made in '94

Nickel 19-3 with TH/TT/RR

686-4

Dan Wesson 714 fixed barrel

Honorable mention, two 640-1s and a 60-9. I don't have photos of these ones

Looks like I picked the right day to take the 640-1 to the range. It shoot so we'll that I've been carrying it since cleaning it in my return.

And I had this funny looking thing with me while I was practicing.

Man, there are some classics on this thread!!

Love the snubs!

Here's my 66-4 and 649-2, both of which have been carried over the years (the 66 in the line of duty at the beginning of my career and, on occasion, the 649 off-duty near the end). Also, here's my '67 Colt DS that honestly has never been carried, rarely shot, just looked at a lot.

Default Snubbies & Such

So many beautiful snubbies on parade!

I’ve got a few more, a 442 that’s on loan to a buddies wife to see if she likes it and can shoot it. Two more Taurus in 38 & 357, this one is a 327 Mag and getting harder to come by, the S&W 327 is sweet but I just can’t bring myself to pop the $1400 or so it takes to get one. Someday maybe...

Just put the Bond in for good measure.

And, 'Poppa Bear' I guess, my S & W 2nd Mdl Hand Ejector in .45 ACP, or the Commercial Model version of the erstwhile m1917, which got it's Barrel shortened along the way -

All I can say is that you guys have some fabulous snub nosed revolvers and a few "short weapons!" They seem to show up in my safe on a regular basis.

I have several snubs, but here is one of my favorites.

Shoots well, and accurately.

It appears that this thread has veered off the S&W rails, so here’s mine. Six of these are Smith’s, two Ruger’s, two Taurus, two NAA's and one Rossi. Nothing over a 3” barrel. Never fails, every time I do a group pic, I forget one. This time it was my American Derringer, not a big deal.

Here's a pair of snubbies. A 19-4 and 66 no dash. I've got a 3" 63 and 1 7/8" 642 also, but their not as elegant.
